THE PORT OF GDANSK is the largest Polish seaport and the fourth in the Baltic Sea in terms of cargo handling. It is an important international communication hub with a modern deepwater container terminal, terminal for passenger ferries and ro-ro vessels, specialized bases for handling energy raw materials: liquid fuels, coal and LPG, transhipment bases for passenger cars and citrus fruits, base for sulfur and other services bulk cargo, phosphorite reloading base. The other universal wharfs allow handling of conventional general cargo and bulk goods.
